In June 2026, AfterHours Family Clinic, PLLC was founded in Wake Forest, North Carolina by a local Family Nurse Practitioner with a simple but important mission: to make healthcare more accessible when families need it most. After years of caring for patients in a variety of healthcare settings, it became clear that many individuals and families faced a common challenge—finding timely medical care during evenings and weekends.
Throughout North Carolina, most primary care offices and many healthcare services operate during traditional business hours, typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While these hours serve many patients well, illness and health concerns do not follow a schedule. Parents often find themselves caring for a child with a fever late at night, workers may develop symptoms after returning home from work, and families frequently need medical guidance during weekends when access to care is limited.
This diminished access to healthcare services after hours highlighted a gap in the community and inspired the creation of AfterHours Family Clinic, PLLC. The vision was to provide convenient, compassionate, and affordable healthcare during the times when traditional clinics are often closed. By offering care during weeknights and weekends, the clinic was established to help bridge the gap between routine office hours and the need for timely medical attention.
